Education/Background:

I am a third year PhD student studying environmental engineering and earning a minor in toxicology. I am also currently enrolled in the Graduate Certificate for College and University Teaching program. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in 2015. After graduating I spent four years working as a consultant designing transportation infrastructure and performing various environmental analyses for land development projects. I became a licensed Professional Engineer in Oregon as of July 2020.

Research Interest/Focus:

My research focuses on the various risks associated with nanoscale plastics. My projects involve looking at novel methods for characterizing environmental nanoplastics, studying nanoplastic toxicity, and understanding the various physicochemical processes influencing nanoplastic bioavailability in the human gastrointestinal tract.
